Heartwarming

I’m currently looking through a bunch of old medical records for my summer job. Know what’s completely heartwarming and touching? Seeing this pop up in records:

“Called owner, abdominal ultrasound showed splenic mass. Told owners most likely hemangiosarcoma with 3 months survival. Owner wants surgery today.”

In my most secret heart of hearts, I really really want a pair of bright yellow Crocs.

Sigh… I want to go home and have one of my mom’s croquettes.

Awesome pants

I asked my anatomy professor for a horse skull to borrow so I could use it to study for my anatomy final. Final’s over and done with, I emailed him to ask when I could bring the skull around to return it, and he said I could keep it! Now I have this sweet horse skull. The cats constantly gnaw on it. No, cats… no. You cannot eat my horse skull.

Yesterday was Ian’s birthday. I got him Diablo III and a tennis racket. I think he liked the racket - he took several practice swings and almost hit my head. Then he actually hit his own head. Bahaha :) Granted, we were in our kitchen and he was trying not to hit the ceiling while he pretended to serve. He looked really good, otherwise. It’s amazing to me how much Ian retains muscle memory in terms of sports. He’s played just as much tennis as I have - he started in elementary school and quit in high school, just like me - and yet he’s still really good at it, whereas I’m pretty terrible. But he’s going to teach me over the summer, and hopefully it’ll come back to me to the point where we can play each other. It’ll be fun. :)

It’s finally warm enough for us to go to sleep with our windows open. The cats are especially enjoying it, and we wake up to see them sitting on the windowsill and intently looking down at the street to people-watch. I woke up early this morning to study for my second-to-last final (wahoo!!), and I literally had to pry their claws away from the windowsill to take them out of the bedroom so they wouldn’t bother Ian while he still slept.
